What? How can ABBA not make the cut?
I was thinking that only the most miserable right-wing arse hole would exclude them, and there it is in the article - right wing arse holes deliberately defining criteria to exclude any foreigners, and ABBA are collateral damage. Who gives a fuck, though? This whole project seems stupid from beginning to end, and we can still sing ABBA hits in the shower.
Fascists are obsessed with defining what cultural heritage is and what isn’t for a reason. They act all conservative until you hand them the steering wheel and they start culling your culture.
The Swedish Academy declined to be involved in the project, which was launched by the government in 2023, saying it was divisive and put ideology before the literature.
Usually that’s the point of such lists.
