“Where are you?” is not something that many people would have said aloud outside of a game of hide and seek before the advent of pay phones and only rarely until the turn of the century or so.
Not to mention the phrases that probably never were used before cellphones.
Saying “I will text you!” would have been a really weird statement just 50 years ago…
“Sorry, my butt called you.”
True. “I am here” used to have way more metaphysical connotations.
