I tweaked. Many (most?) don’t.

You know what else would help? Annual (or more) blood tests during routine wellness checks with your doctor.
Do you know why most people don’t get those?
Insurance won’t cover them. Many insurance providers won’t cover them.
Maybe start there? Although I’m guessing he has no buddies who would make money from routine blood tests.

You know, you have to wonder how different the war might be if Ukraine was allowed to properly defend itself from the beginning.

100%
Now if this guy was some kind of prodigy, that would explain the face. But the stories I’ve seen paint him as your typical dipshit, 20-something MAGAt.
Minus that, there’s a level of entitlement oozing from his face that screams “I think I’m somebody important because my dad/uncle/mom/lover thinks I am.”

I have one very simple question:
Who … are … his … parents?
Based on his LinkedIn, and what appeared in the story, I’m not sure what sets him apart from thousands of other wannabe MAGA assholes.
Which triggers my spideysense. Well that and the arrogant fucking faces he’s putting out into the interwebs like he’s Don Juan De La Nooch.
My guess is he’s probably a nepo-baby and his folks are either influential or made a ‘donation’ to get him appointed.
To quote Ocean’s Eleven:
“Never heard of him.” “That’s why I don’t doubt it.”

I just saw that making the rounds today as well. Felt like one of those “we know this won’t be accepted so we’ll hope we don’t get caught until it doesn’t matter” moments.

These artists should give a free concert in DC on Trump’s birthday, starting when the parade does.

New Orleans has precogs?!?!

To produce their analysis, the researchers fed wealth-based greenhouse gas emissions inequality assessments into climate modelling frameworks, allowing them to systematically attribute the changes in global temperatures and the frequency of extreme weather events that have taken place between 1990 and 2019.
I do take studies like this with a grain of salt. I don’t know this organization, but they certainly have a point of view, and it certainly is reasonable to think they could have run those computer simulations to say what they wanted it to say.
Now with that said, I’d wager many of the folks in this thread are included in that 10%. The top 10% of the world makes like $50,000 a year. “Rich” is subjective and varies from country to country, region to region. Hell it can vary widely just in the US. And even in a single state (look at average wages for somebody in the NYC area versus Syracuse).

From another source:
The investigation revealed that upon examination in Ukraine, it was discovered that several internal organs were missing, including the brain, eyeballs, and part of the larynx.
According to the investigative team, the body showed signs of an autopsy conducted in Russia. An international expert suggested that the missing organs could have been removed to obscure evidence of death by strangulation or suffocation.
Sounds like they mutilated the body to cover up how she died.

Any time you hear Republicans argue 18 year olds shouldn’t be able to vote, and they want to increase the age to 21/25, tell them “OK - then anybody over 65 isn’t allowed to vote either.”

The women said “They twisted it to make it seem as if we admitted that we wanted to work illegally in the US.”

Both say they were handcuffed and sent to a detention center, which they claimed was more like a prison.
“We were searched with metal detectors, our entire bodies were scanned, and we had to stand naked in front of the police officers and were looked through,” Pohl said. “Then we were given green prison clothes and put in a prison cell with serious criminals.”
Among them was someone who had spent 18 years behind bars for murder, the women said, and they were left sleeping in a double cell with tiny barred windows and metal bunks with moldy mattresses.
I really want to know what changed that made the above happen much more often.
In December, if Customs had concerns about two teenagers trying to sneak into the US to work on a travel visa, where did they go? How was it handled? Because it feels like overkill and probably much more expensive than what we used to do.
Why are we sending backpacking teenagers with visa concerns to the same place as a murderer?
Why are they being strip searched like they were drug smugglers?
But the women — who were planning to continue on to Los Angeles and then Costa Rica after Hawaii — insisted they were interrogated by CBP for hours, and that transcripts show their words were “twisted” and outright falsified.
“They contained sentences we didn’t actually say,” Pohl said of interrogation transcripts they were sent home with.
“They twisted it to make it seem as if we admitted that we wanted to work illegally in the US,” she told the German outlet Ostee Zeitung.
And then this feels like the after-the-fact coverup. Whatever they held them on was super flimsy, so they tried to make it sound worse when they realized this was going to hit the news.

The sequel is set to take place on Isla Mujeres in Quintana Roo, Mexico, with tickets going for $1,400 and up to $1.1m. When speaking about the highest-priced package, McFarland has said: “You will be on a boat, have the luxury yachts that we partner with who will be docked and parked outside the island.”
A minimum of $500,000 will go towards the money still owed by McFarland, estimated to be close to $26m.
Amazing to me that anybody would spend real money on anything this fraudster promotes.

I would have gone for some Baby Lasagna instead. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xTBrVNZtnys

At this point Trump threats are starting to sound like Russia and China.
Sad we’ve gotten to the point the President of the United States can say something, and the general reaction is “yeah yeah, whatever Trailer Trash Trump.”

Anybody know what the real reason for this is?
All websites can track how often a link is clicked, and what the link is, and who clicked it (especially if you have an account).

My wife bought one of these pieces of shit before we got together. A few months back I finally got to the point where I had the “honey we need to throw out your printer and get a new one.”
“OK - should we give it to my sister or see if any of our friends want this?”
“I’m not sure I dislike any of your friends or family enough to inflict this much frustration on them.”

And this, my friends, are why tariffs are dumb.
I do wonder if we’re going to see some websites popping up that kind of hit the reset button on social media and go back to smaller communities of folks with something in common.
I kind of miss the days of actually having online conversations with folks you know are real people (not bots), that aren’t trying to be an influencer, or get famous, or some how many money off your interactions.
