  • Thank you for telling me about Podlet. I’ve been using podman-compose for all my containers but I’ve thought about converting them to systemd units. The only thing I’m unsure about is whether it’ll still be easy to access the container files. Currently I have a containers folder with a folder for each service inside it. Inside that, there’s the compose.yml and the folders with the container data. I map all container folders, with data that needs to be kept, to a folder that sits right next to the compose file. If it’s just temporary data (like caches), I oftentimes map it to a volume because it doesn’t matter if I lose it. Do you know if I can still do it like this (or in a similar way) if I use systemd units?

  • Tf does tankie even mean at this point? As a communist, I’m not on the side of any state, I’m on the side of the people dying needlessly in both countries. Anyone who identifies themselves as a communist and has more than 2 brain cells should know that this isn’t a football match where you root for your favorite team. Aside from the fact that russia isn’t the USSR anymore anyway, it’s just another capitalist country. Both governments suck but the Ukrainian one wasn’t at fault for this war at all.

  • I never really understood the deal about hybrids anyway. To me, it just seems like the worst of both worlds. One of the coolest things about EVs is that you can just charge it at home but wirth a hybrid you need to charge it in addition to also driving to the gas station to fill up the tank. The battery is also way smaller, so the electric engine doesn’t take you very far anyway. And whatever engine you’re using, you always have to carry the weight of the other system. And since you have both, doesn’t that mean that there’s way more that can break too?

And that’s just talking about plug-in hybrids, the ones that generate electricity using a combustion engine just seem like ICE vehicles with extra steps.
