I’ll be honest… it deserved worse than snark. A woman died, in a country suffering from tremendous economic turmoil and civil unrest.
Your question - however honest it might have been - heavily implied that her death was easily avoidable if she only had someone with a “barely above average IQ” to help her.
It’s one thing to ask what might have been done to prevent this. It’s another thing entirely to suggest that it would have been easy to prevent this.

You know, I didn’t think this was WW3 yet. I thought this was going to escalate proxy wars and spread fear across the globe at a scale we haven’t seen since the height of the Cold War, but… the President just quoted an Ambassador in Jerusalem asking for a thermonuclear World War in God’s name.
It’s insane this got upvotes. You would be insane to take that job. Most mayors don’t have access to either, because either would cost a lot of money. Far more money than you’re imagining, and certainly more money than your average town hall could get access to. Most American towns wouldn’t be able to afford this.
Defense is unbelievably more difficult than you suggest. Defense requires constant readiness and paranoia, every single day. Offense requires a few minutes of aggression, once.

Any security would know what they’re up against, and the cartel would know the security’s there. Which means you’re not going to find just two good guards. If you don’t have a lot of money, you either have whatever local police you can get, or you maybe hire two wannabes who think an assault rifle is all you need to lock down a town hall. But they take days off. Or they take bribes.
Real security against the cartels would easily be millions of dollars over the course of the mayor’s time in office. Any security guard worth a damn isn’t going to risk their lives virtually alone looking out windows, that’s a death sentence.
It’s called Dark Matter. C’mon, what’s more likely, 85% of the universe is completely unobservable by chance? Or by design?

Yeah, too many people keep acting like “hold up a sign” and “start shooting” are the only two political actions possible. There is a vast array of disruptions and threats to the status quo that do not require violence.

Important to note - again - that they have not disclosed this alleged breakthrough to the public.
Also important to note that this strike happened a day after the Israeli parliament nearly dissolved - specifically, they remained solvent because they codified an exemption for the Ultra-Orthodox from the military draft.
Almost as if they want to use the attack to solidify the war machine and distract their citizens from the fact the most conservative among them do not have to risk their lives in “defense” like the other 87% of the country.
As you said, the nuclear program is well documented. The very recent closure to UN inspections is a major concern, but it does not indicate some unknown breakthrough.
Israel literally informed the US prior to the strikes. Israeli intelligence and American intelligence is deeply intertwined. Israel struck known enrichment sites and headquarters in the capital city.
If they had identified and targetted an illegal development black site, they would have every reason to verify it themselves. They have not.

This sounds very “not involved”
They are claiming self defense in part due to Iran’s nuclear weapons program. The implication being that there is an immediate threat.
First, [the Israeli official] alleged that the Iranian government is advancing a “secret program” to develop nuclear weapons. The U.S. intelligence community assesses that Iran is not actively pursuing a nuclear weapon. Secondly, the Israeli official said, Iran has thousands of ballistic missiles. Finally, he said Iran has been distributing weapons and arms to proxy groups across the region, like Hezbollah and Hamas.
Their nuclear program is well documented. The allegation that they are imminently capable of producing or deploying a nuclear weapon is not.
Important to note that it’s more than just hypocrisy, it’s probably also a complete lie.

No, we should regain control of our nation from fascists (this does not mean just replace the President), then nationalize SpaceX and Starlink, and make telecoms public utilities.
No American has a right to talk like this. Our history inspired much of the Nazi ideology around eugenics, we supplied the early Nazi war machine, we allowed a rally of twenty thousand Nazis to sell out Madison Square Garden the same year we turned away the ship St. Louis full of a thousand refugees, and we dragged our feet until we had absolutely no choice but to join the conflict.
We exclusively joined out of self interest at the last possible hour, and the entire world suffered for our mistakes.
If not for Pearl Harbor, we would have watched the fall of Europe and the rise and inevitable nuclear armament of Nazi hegemony, and we would never have achieved the economic prosperity of the mid to late 20th century. The sleeping giant would have slowly but surely died in obscurity while the Axis powers dragged the entire globe into a new Dark Age. Assuming we didn’t outright join them or engage in mutually assured destruction with Nazis first.
The US did the right thing in the end by becoming an Ally, but only because the Axis chose to make us an enemy first. We saved ourselves. Nothing more, nothing less.
