The chopping technique is about eliminating risk, mostly. Sure for a single meal and being aware you’ll be fine. But getting into the habit of a good technique means you’ll be fine even when you’re tired or distracted

2MW also isn’t much
It’s a proof of concept, they’re not actually trying to power anything with this. They’re just checking their math on a small scale before doing the full scale lol

I find the people that I disagree with have much better points
Yeah same. I’ve had many more educational moments on Lemmy, in both directions, than I ever did in 10 years on Reddit

What do I care what language the library is written in as long as it works for what I need it do?

Doesn’t matter what it implies. The entire purpose of programming is to make it so a human doesn’t have to go do something manually.
not x tells me I need to go manually check what type x is in Python.
len(x) == 0 tells me that it’s being type-checked automatically

Honestly most people use Python because it has fantastic libraries. They optimize it because the language is middling, but the libraries are gorgeous
ETA: This might double post because my Internet sucks right now, will fix when I have a chance

Ya never know you’re in the good ol days till they’re over

Honestly a lot of people just don’t realize how easy it actually is. They think it’s something arcane and strange

Those are the same buttons I saw.
The export attachments I assume is intended to export the files you would upload, like scanned in service records and whatnot. Obviously, the demo throws a “no records” error (or however they phrased it). Presumably, they didn’t think about people wanting to test that feature and didn’t bother to upload attachments, but you could upload an attachment and then export it to test methinks.
The reports, however is where you’ve confused me a bit. Mine defaults to exporting to PDF, which is definitely a meaningful format. You can convert it into anything

Checked the demo on my phone, not sure what the desktop site looks like. But on mobile there’s two buttons at the very bottom of the page for exporting data

ITT: People making assumptions based off the tagline without reading the article
Basically not much changes, they’re just gonna wait to post their code until it’s done instead of letting it be viewed in progress

You know you can automate it right? Like long before the advent of AI we’ve been able to automatically tag things based off their content/source/whatever you want really.

This is why we developed the tagging system

Every time I talk to my mom about her work with Microsoft products I’m dumbfounded “you have 3 tools from the same author and none of them interact with each other in any meaningful way but you have to use all 3 to get anything done?”
In order to resolve a concern, she has to check teams for the message to check her outlook for the email which will link to the ticket on Azure… And this isn’t even an uncommon workflow lmao

I think you just misunderstand their message. From what I can tell, they think Elon is unkind and generally disagreeable. Also, from what I can glean from their comments, they believe in the gentile approach similarly to the teachings of pacifists like MLK and Ghandi.
It’s not wrong, it’s just a different form of resistance than you’re used. You’re used to violent, aggressive resistance more similar to the teachings of revolutionaries like Malcom X and Hamilton. That’s not wrong either, it’s just a different form of resistance than he’s used to.
What’s important to realize is that we actually need both. In order to make change, we need to overwhelm the opposition with legal issues, gentleness in the face of violence, and rule-following at the same time as we overwhelm them with Tesla burnings, protests, and what have you. We have to do it all. Because they’ve been doing it all. They’ve been gently ripping at the seams of our systems until now, they can rip them apart. We need to rip at their seams at the same time that we tear at the loose ones.

Bro you made exactly one comment where you tried to extend the base level of human empathy to Elon. Don’t you know you’re the devil now?

While OneNote for Windows 10 still has roughly half a year, Microsoft will start nagging users with update prompts much earlier. For starters, in June 2025, Microsoft will slow down the app’s sync performance, thus forcing customers to ditch the old app, especially those using OneNote on multiple devices or for real-time collaboration.
Next, in July 2025, banners will make their way to OneNote for Windows 10 to make sure users are aware of the upcoming end of support. Microsoft says these banners “could impact users workflows.” You do not say, Microsoft.
Wait. You’re gonna throttle them and then wait a month to tell them why you’re throttling them? What?

I love when someone brings up Rittenhouse because I dated someone who went to high school with him, so I know quite a bit about him.
Turns out all of the signs were there and his mom encouraged that type of stuff :)
Currently using obsidian, will check this out ASAP
