  • It’s amusing how much blowback you’re getting without even having stated a preference. Are people assuming the mods here or useless or just haven’t seen this or what?

People here are way too worked up about motivations they’ve assumed and won’t bother with seeing proved or disproven.

Meannwhile, if I see a post I think doesn’t fit, I figure the mods should be approving posts rather than play whack-a-mole, realize its not my problem, and move-on. As an American, I’ll go on record; The “American” outlook on the “marketplace of ideas” is stupid, precisely because the substantiation part of the sale is essentially optional to most - you can get by on pandering to niche biases as the need arises.

  • The number of leaders among reservists, guardsmen and organizations like the VFW or American Legion who would fight for the opportunity to “relieve” active-duty units of the “burden” of helping with such events will probably be more bothersome to manage than whatever “lack of resources” shits-geth is expecting to inflict.

It wasn’t enough to try and fail to get the Marines and Army to destroy our most populous cities, to the point they “had-to” allow swastika tattoos in the Coastguard and literally bribe people(to an absurd degree) into ICE, now they’re going after the civilian institutions that helped swell the military’s ranks for decades.

It’s like they’re trying to train new leopards to bite thier own faces off, but like “when you behead me, a real man would do it with the backside of a Bowie-knife.” Real clown-car antics from people that won’t even have a friend to drive the car, let alone people to fill it, when their bullshit’s all played-out.

  • … but its not? Literally, the “harder” part about making a bomb with reactor-grade material is keeping it from blowing-up prematurely, while still getting maximum yeild at boom-boom time.

A less-advanced nation might get a lesser explosion out of a “safer”(doesn’t explode until its supposed to) bomb with reactor-grade material, but its still going to be a massive, nuclear explosion, and the unspent fuel creates additional radio-active fallout.

Apparently, civilized-countries’ worst nightmare regarding weapons-grade plutonium is that those that “shouldn’t” have “the bomb” could build them and then be able to shelve them for a later, legitimate threat. Oh, and not being able to cry “they built a dirty bomb!!” if such were ever used.

  • Indeed, and trusting the US to protect allies from invasion was a bad call. The leap from “perhaps US allies should up their defense spending to what it should have been all along, plus a temporary bonus to catch-up/modernize” to “pre-emptive attack and iron-domes for everyone should be on the table” is both eroneous and wasteful.

Don’t encourage countries to bankrupt themselves buying solutions that are sold mostly by the US - thats exacly what my government would love best to enrich defense contractors and justify continued record spending, plus more meddling, I promise.

“Treat x as an attack that requires immediate action, you can’t afford to make rational long-term decisions today” is the hook-line-and-sinker CIA/fascist narrative, always has been.
