  • The answer to this post, and almost everything, is to tax the wealthy. AI is not ruining anything. The people in control of it are.

This is the correct take, right here. Per the article, ““The trend toward automation and AI could lead to a decrease in tax revenues. In the United States, for example, about 85% of federal tax revenue comes from labor income, says Sanjay Patnaik, director of the Center for Regulation and Markets at the Brookings Institution,” It’s the working plebs that are carrying the majority of the tax burden.

The rich can pay there fair share, or we can grind them up and feed the slush into a reverse osmosis machine during the water wars.

  • Despite being human beings, we are still living organisms that evolved. Our species evolved intelligence which led to agriculture, industry, the industrial revolution, and our current ecological shitshow. In theory, we possess the intelligence to change course and attempt to fix things, but our collective greed and hubris will ensure that the capitalists end up ruling over a pile of smoldering ash from their bunkers. I’m not trying to downplay how badly we as a species have fucked up or how much damage we have done, just that evolution will continue despite us, even though we are the ones that pushed things in a certain direction.

  • According to the trial, moments after the collision snapshot was uploaded to Tesla’s servers, the local copy on the car was marked for deletion. Then, “someone at Tesla probably took ‘affirmative action to delete’ the copy of the data on the company’s central database,” according to the Post.

Tesla only acknowledged that it had received the data once the police took the Tesla’s damaged infotainment system and autopilot control unit to a Tesla technician to diagnose, but at that time the local collision snapshot was considered unrecoverable.

That’s where the hacker, only identified as @greentheonly, his username on X, came in. Greentheonly told The Washington Post that, “for any reasonable person, it was obvious the data was there.”

During the trial, Tesla told the court that it hadn’t hidden the data, but lost it. The company’s lawyer told the Post that Tesla’s data handling practices were “clumsy” and that another search turned up the data, after acknowledging that @greentheonly had retrieved the snapshot locally from the car.

Fuck Elon and Fuck Tesla. May they both rest in piss.

  • I sort of think that the only way to make visa/mastercard reverse course is to boycott the fuck out of them. Go back to using cash to make EVERY purchase. Purchase physical copies of games every time with cash. (I’ve been able to link games to my steam account purchased this way.) No longer buy skins and loot crates, and battle passes. Same goes with media. Go back to hard CDs for music/movies. Starve them of income any place you can, which would fuck with the business models of so many other companies that want your debit and cc on file for streaming services and subscriptions.
