The class war is already underway - the financial elite are actively fighting it, and winning by forfeit because the rest of us are mostly split into those who don’t see the attacks and those who see them but misassign the blame for them.

No war but class war.

And yes - racism is deliberately encouraged by the wealthy few in order to keep the lower class at each other’s throats.

It’s a very simple dynamic really. People look around and recognize that their societies are fucked up. Then they look for somebody to blame.

And there really is somebody to blame. In virtually all cases, the society has been fucked up both by and for the ruling class.

But of course the ruling class doesn’t want anyone else to see that (and in many cases are so irrational themselves that they won’t or can’t see it), so they find somebody else to point to, to distract our attention from them.

And race is a particularly easy thing to point to, since it’s a visible distinction.

Less bad is still bad.

This so neatly sums up the blithering insanity of the right - if the data counters their preferred view and cannot be discredited, then they have no choice but to… hide the data.

Rather obviously, the actual “problem” is that after far too many years of appeasing the most violent and deadly terrorist organization in the Middle East, Australia has finally stopped.

And now the head of that terrorist organization is pissed.

Not every tactic - no.

And Russia is introducing some novel tactics of its own, like kidnapping and indoctrinating Ukrainian children.

I have little doubt though that the broad strategy is exactly the same - what they can’t take immediately, they intend to take incrementally.

And in fact, that’s essentially what they’re already announcing to the world. They can’t be unaware of the fact that, to much of the world, stating that they’re patterning the proposed occupation after the West Bank is effectively stating outright that they fully intend for Russia to then incrementally steal everything and to kill anyone who tries to stop them.

I assume that also means that Russia would then send in state-sponsored terrorists in the guise of “settlers” to murder the Ukrainians and incrementally steal their land, and send in the army to slaughter them if they dare to fight back.

Not just the most corrupt president in history, but the most gauche and tasteless as well.

So can we assume it smells like some combination of stale bronzer, McDonalds, flop sweat and ass?

And this is why SUDDENLY IRAN!

For some reason, he seems extra butthurt about getting caught lying this time.

“The mob” and not the studies dating back well over 100 years pointing out the undeniable link between asbestos and lung disease.

I could go out right now and find the most drug-addled junkie living in a cardboard box under an overpass, and he’d be a better president than Trump.

That’d be about par for the course. When too much attention is focused on their abject evil in Gaza, one of their strategies is to suddenly go stir the shit in Iran or Lebanon or Syria and get attention focused there instead.

Not necessarily.

Trump doing his thing 2016-2020 met with a lot of obstacles and pushback.

Then he was out of office for four years, and while he was crashing around spewing nonsense and vitriol, some very intelligent and very evil people were working behind the scenes to secure some significant Supreme Court rulings and to draw up a step-by-step plan for instituting fascism in the US.

And now Trump doing his thing is met with almost no obstacles or pushback - virtually the entire government is bending over backwards to enable him.

And it must be noted that he’s not particularly smart or sane, but he is a childishly greedy and selfish narcissist. That means he’s incredibly easy to manipulate. All anyone has to do is frame something in a way that appeals to his crippled emotions and drop a few hints to get him going in the right direction, then just stand back and let him do his thing.

It’s really sort of amazing.

While most corrupt politicians would be content to work for the benefit of whoever pays them a fat enough bribe, Trump appears to actually go out of his way to only work for the most foul, loathsome and destructive corporations and industries. It’s as if he has a rigid set of negative standards - “you must be this evil to gain my advocacy” - and any industry or corporation that isn’t sufficiently evil is turned away.

Expect to see a lot more of that all around the world.

Trump can hide enough of his caprice and his pettiness and his self-absorption behind emotive rhetoric to fool the MAGAs, but none of that works on an international scale. The rest of the world just sees him, accurately, as a petulant, self-serving asshole and raving lunatic who can’t be trusted. Ever. And that’s the way they’re going to treat him, and the US by extension.
