Thanks! Just started using this recently (been having problems with Substreamer), and so far, so good :)

Not like it ever applied to the US anyways.

How I learned the most was building a home server and figuring out all the problems along the way. LAN, WAN, VPN, iptables, DNS…
I do your second suggestion. I have a cheap ($5/mo) vps from digital ocean that proxies all the traffic to/from my home server via wireguard. There’s a few tutorials out there that explain how to configure iptables to forward traffic from one network interface to another on the vps.

I set mine up with Debian and Swizzin community edition.

It’s funny, I just came back from an open-mic night, and there was a fair bit of this material haha.

Check out Yunohost. In my experience it is way easier to setup and manage than docker. I’ve been using it for years and it continues to improve and add more supported software.

Drop it on a cop from a high window.

“May”??

Whoa dude. Deep.

Who is the legitimate governing body in Gaza, if not Hamas, bro?

I’ve never heard about Hamas torturing Israeli prisoners. There are videos from the last 2 days showing the differences between prisoners from both sides being released. The ones released by Hamas et al look happy and healthy, while the ones released by Israel look traumatized and half dead.

Israel spent the last 2 years publicly executing hundreds of thousands of civilians. Hamas (legitimate governing organization of Gaza) is finally freed up to deal with the collaborators and criminals who were taking advantage of their already brutalized neighbors.

Came here to say pretty much the same thing. I basically already host “disroot” services for myself.

VPS is not that much, especially if you aren’t storing a ton of media. Digital Ocean and Hetzner are good places to look. This will also prevent some networking headaches you’re likely to have hosting it “on prem”.
If part of your reason for doing this is to involve the kids in the process, then it’s better to do it locally. Someone in the org has or can find an unused desktop computer that you guys can have fun with for pretty much zero cost. You will probably have trouble trying to connect to it from outside your network though.

I can think of few things more boring than databases. I just want my files synced and stored.

Love my Navidrome server, though I use Substreamer on Android since it’s “free” and free.

Why the hell would they include Israel??
I’m so hungry for billionaires.
