I had read a conspiracy theory somewhere that “freebirth” is all about being “anti-establishment”.

In this picture, everything that has to do with the federal government (including being a “certified” medical personal) are seen as being “top-down”, and it’s “seeking independence” to reject that. That’s why they don’t even want any medical professional to see the baby, because they’re worried that the baby is going to be implanted a chip to make it adhere to future state ideology or sth, and that can only be avoided by basically giving birth at home and not even telling the state that a pregnancy is about to happen (so they can’t forcefully transfer the woman to a hospital), so there’s a bit of secrecy about it too.

Personal comment/interpretation: I mean, it’s interesting to watch how these ideas of “anarchy” and “self-determination” unfold here. It’s very interesting to see how the same idea of “wanting to be independent” can manifest itself in completely different, and often opposite, ways. It’s like if somebody told you that the establishment is bad, and you’ve heard these words your whole life, how do you know it’s not true? How do you go to a hospital if everybody around you is wary of that and says they might want to poison you or idk what? How does a medical system (that is financed by the state) build the trust that it is actually safe to go there? How do you reach the people that don’t know you yet?

the problem is that so many people want to use it that there’s simply not enough trains to move the people. every time i enter an inter-city train, it’s full. no exceptions. it’s always full. more trains are needed, but it will take years. then the price can drop.

translation: it’s called he-ducation, not she-ducation (in german), because women are born perfect or sth. it works better in german though because “erziehen” is a bit decoupled from “educating” (we have “bilden” for that instead) and more on the “tell them what to do/how to behave” side

I wish i could get optimistic about this but i’ve seen the EU commission, and Von der Leyen specifically, mess up too many times in the past. They’re shitheads, full of stupidity and incredible lack of actual understanding of what they’re doing. But that’s just a personal opinion.

for years it has been a capitalistic idea that if a country has more people in it, it’s always better, because that means there’s more workers who can be exploited by companies.

that’s however changing right now, because capitalists are understanding that if there’s more people in the country, then you also need to feed and house them (or there’s social unrest) and that costs money. And if you can’t give people good jobs (like, due to automation there’s fewer jobs in total), then you’re essentially paying for people to sit around and do nothing, and that’s expensive and probably not in the capitalist interest. that’s why we’re seeing a change of narrative in social media rn, where there’s less talking of “we need more people, muh duh, declining birthrate” and more people saying “well, actually, a declining birthrate is a good thing” and such.
