you think there might be a difference between russia drafting mentally challenged canon fodder for a baseless war of attrition and Ukraine doing whatever it needs to to stay alive? maybe? a little difference?

The Ukrainian Defence Ministry amended the criteria for medical exemptions, reclassifying people with tuberculosis, viral hepatitis, thyroid disease and HIV to be fit for military service
I think that’s a bit different than drafting mentally challenged people to be canon fodder

in b4 it turns out she’s besties with gislaine

As if you needed further proof that this thing is the antichrist, he’s riding around the opposite of the pope mobile

The ability to work from home has given me innumerable benefits, but I must admit that as a very introverted guy who’s been going through some shit, and who’s go-to move during times of anxiety and depression is to distance themselves from everyone… yeah, sometimes I do miss my coworkers. A lot of them are pretty great people. Doesn’t mean I’d rather spend 3 hours a day sitting in traffic to see them, just means I low-key miss someone to bitch with.

I dunno man, just look at ol’ rudie guiliani and mike lindell (the pillow guy). They’re both broke as shit, ruined their lives. Now all they have left is grift

The existence of this kind of instinct within an LLM is extremely concerning. Acting out towards self-preservation via unethical means is something that can be hand-waved away in an LLM, but once we reach true AGI, this same thing will pop-up, and there’s no reason to believe that 1. we would notice, and 2. we would be able to stop it. This is the kind of thing that should, ideally, give us pause enough to set some world-wide ground rules for the development of this new tech. Creating a thinking organism that can potentially access vital cyber architecture whilst acting unethically towards self-preservation is how you get Skynet.

cooks make more than salads. You’re being an asshole.

Literally not a fantasy, but my and a lot of cooks reality.

When I was a cook, even if I was just making something simple, I could still find creative satisfaction in a variety of ways. How you sprinkle on the garnish, plating, using a little more of this, a little less of that. Food to a chef is like art designed to be destroyed, so with the temporary nature of the medium, it really allows you to be creative. You’re not hung up on making it perfect, because it’s just about to be eaten, so it let’s you be more free with your design choices. It can be fun creating art while you’re supposed to be working.
but if my job was suddenly just washing up after a machine… well. That will get old real quick.
I understand the abhorrent history of church run schools, but what did Pope Francis, specifically, do to garner such hatred from you? He’s been the most liberal pope we’ve ever had? Celebrating the previous popes death, I get, but Francis?

Awesome to have these two headlines right next to each other in my feed:
Video Shows Aid Workers Killed in Gaza Under Gunfire Barrage, With Ambulance Lights On
Senate Democrats overwhelmingly reject restricting US arms sales to Israel
the US Senate has resoundingly voted in support of continuing the genocide in Gaza by rejecting two resolutions aimed at blocking some $9 billion in weapons to the Israeli government.
Cory Booker, recently hailed in the corporate press for talking for 25 hours straight on the Senate floor—without blocking a vote on legislation or a Trump judicial nomination—voted against both resolutions.

the paramedic who filmed the video was later found with a bullet in his head in the mass grave. His name has not been disclosed yet because he has relatives living in Gaza concerned about Israeli retaliation
“We killed your son, and it came to light, so now we’re going to kill you.”
It’s truly hard to fathom the depth of evil in isreal right now. And we’re fucking funding it. We’re arming them, and paying them to continue. Meanwhile AIPAC continues to fund primaries against our politicians that speak out. The US is a fucking joke.

When this is happening to even the beautiful white women, you know shit’s a thousand times worse for BIPOC… I know that we had issues with immigration during previous administrations, but they were nothing compared to this vile treatment.

Maybe in this trolley problem, someone pulls the lever. Stanislav Petrov did the right thing, perhaps others will too.

36 CEO’s, you say?
That’s not even enough to clog a woodchipper 🤔

I am so fucking sick of this pathetic piss baby bullshit. This fucking traitor and his cock holster have no right to disparage Zelenskyy, whilst polishing putins knob and trying to blackmail extort an ally into giving away their countries natural fucking resources. The level of treacherous, inane bullshit being spouted by these stupid fascist fucking fucks comes across like it’s from some poorly written trash novel trying to really spell it out for the reader how absurdly terrible these people are.
I tell ya, I’m this close to volunteering for the fight in Ukraine myself, just so I have a chance to literally fight fascism, because the idea of sitting on my hands any longer is becoming detrimental to my health.

The site doesn’t even allow you to “like” posts. “It seemed to us to be a kind of high school popularity contest, a way of creating a dependency on the platform,” said the founder, holding a mug of tea.
On Facebook, Instagram or X, likes are also used to help algorithms identify users. Here, there’s no need: There’s no algorithm. “On Front Porch Forum, content isn’t infinite, so we don’t have to choose what we show,” said Wood-Lewis. Doomscrolling – mindlessly consuming a flood of negative news – is impossible here: Browsing through the posts takes just 10 minutes.
“Sometimes nothing much happens, just like in real life.”
Sounds lovely!
oh dang, then you almost made a point then. nice job!
Because it seemed like you were trying to say that Ukraine was drafting mentally challenged people, and was just as bad as russia for doing so. but it turns out that they just adjusted their acceptance standards and dissolved a commission. Good thing we know now that the point you tried to make was pointless distraction, and that my original comment is a far better interpretation of the actual events.
