In fairness I didn’t know or think about it until he showed up in that stupid hulk Hogan costume at the fight.

Great spot. Fair play.

We actually have decent plans to improve public transport but at least in the capital they’re being held up by a bunch of (wealthy) NIMBY’s.
There is legislation on the way to remove their bullshit.

That’s such a ridiculous thing to agree to, knowing that a country with a veto was the most likely aggressor. :(

That’s OK. You’re doing the best you can. Try to go easy on yourself.

OnePlus claim it’s not and a quick search does back that up. For the one specific to my phone they move a chunk of the work off the device (reducing heat on the phone) and onto the charger. It’ll still charge normally with any USB charger but it gets much hotter and is much slower compared to the OnePlus “warp” charge.

Yeah, a friend of mine made a similar argument and I hear it. Personally I’m always right beside a fast charger so it’s not an issue for me.
My phone has an option to auto-stop charging at 80% so I use that. I will occasionally charge it to 100% but like maybe once a month. TBH if it had an option to stop at 90% I’d probably use that as a middle ground (my steam deck does and I use 90% with it). I got 5 years out of my last phone and I’m 3 years into the current one and hoping to get many more out of it.
edit:
Personally I charge to about 95% and my phone batteries remain at 98-100% condition after 2 years of everyday use.
That’s a good reference point, cheers. Do you not find it a pain to monitor that though?

For anyone wondering what “10,000 lifetime cycles” means, it’s full charge / discharge to the point that the batteries are at 80% of original capacity so 10,000 is to me an absolutely incredible number.
A typical phone battery is rated for about 500 (you can massively improve this by not charging it beyond 80%).

Can’t disagree with that in fairness.

Would you ever jog on. I’d bet cold, hard cash that you haven’t been to both places.
I have and I can tell you that even under the current administration, we are ideologically far closer to one than the other when you talk with actual humans.

Thanks so much. That’s perfect.

New comment in case you’ve seen the previous one… Has reading that thread changed your enjoyment of the book?
I haven’t read the thread yet.

Thanks for the heads up. That’s disappointing. I was excited to start it but I’m still finishing up Revolutions.
I’ll have a read of the Reddit thread in advance though.

Yeah I’ve had to filter by subscribing to a heap of more fun and light comms instead of looking at “all”. Highly recommend.

That is a great review. Thank you. Just got it with a spare credit I had and it’ll be next up after I finish Revolutions.
I really don’t mind the time commitment. If anything I prefer longer form, more in depth stuff. Both Revolutions and The History of Rome (same podcaster, Mike Duncan) were very long and I thoroughly enjoyed both.
I highly recommend them both if you’re looking for something in the future. The History of Rome is really excellent though he takes a few episodes to hit his stride as it was his first podcast. It’s 179 episodes long and I was bummed when it was over and have listened to it twice so far.
Edit: If you haven’t seen it, The World at War is absolutely incredible. It was made in the 70s so they got interviews with some of the surviving senior Nazis which is fascinating.
I couldn’t bring myself to watch the horrors of the holocaust episode though. Just couldn’t.

You enjoying it? I’m on the lookout for some more historical goodness. My current podcast (Revolutions, which is whopper) is nearing it’s end.

You didn’t? I inadvertently saw so many dicks in school. It was just normalised and nobody cared. The lads locker room was like a nudist beach after 15 or so. We just went about our business.

Then you read correctly!

Ah lads… You’ve gone too far now. C’mon. How in the name of sweet baby Jesus, Mary, Joseph and all his carpenter friends is this not an onion? C’mon now. Seriously.
I keep meaning to look up how the Nazis reacted to supposedly “racially inferior” Jewish and black competitors winning events at the 1936 Olympics. I’m sure they’ll use the same rationale.
Edit: well I finally got my finger out. It seems they put them down to anomalies and just kept on thinking they were the best. I expected as much.
One interesting tidbit is that some of the losses were blamed on weather or technicalities hahahaha. Cope.
Jesse Owens (who I just learned won four gold medals) did say that he was treated better in Germany than the US and Roosevelt never invited him to the white house. Shameful. :(
