If you haven’t logged in to your WhatsApp through any third party applications you should be fine.

it’s the kind of dependency developers install without a second thought
I got a feeling this is an attack vector that will continue to grow, as now there’s vibe coding frameworks installing random dependencies without a thought at all.

Why bundle HL3 as launch title? Feels a bit too much to develop the most memed game ever + trying to figure out the logistics of 3 new hardware products at the same time. People won’t exactly rush to buy Steam Machine for HL3 if they already have a decent PC.

The company also heavily used styrofoam in the renovation process, which is highly flammable.

There’s nothing more permanent than a temporary solution

From what I understand the Steam Machine performance is somewhere between Series S and Series X. I don’t think it will cost more than a Series X.
Maybe 600.

I don’t have a car, but sometimes I envy those who do. They can just look for furniture on second hand listings online and then just go and buy it.
If I need to do the same I need to do some serious planning ahead.

The car isn’t bound to any schedule, isn’t limited by any predetermined bus stops, and can carry the TV you just bought.

Israel will complain that Hamas is using human shields on their nuclear testing sites.

Whenever I play Civ I try to go for a peaceful victory. Then someone picks a fight with me and that escalates with me going for the world domination victory.

When it comes to theory of computability, you don’t need to account for optimization techniques. No need to consider the practicality of getting an answer from the algorithm, like how long it takes or how much memory it requires. Either you can get an answer in finite amount of time, or you can not.
But I agree it’s sus when it comes to making such strong statements about the compatibility of the reality. I don’t trust this paper makes all the right assumptions.

Counterexample: your dreams are a form of simulation (probably). So I can literally disprove this take in my sleep
Dreams are an approximation of reality at best. It’s not a perfect simulation.

They argue that the universe isn’t mathematically computable, and therefore not possible to simulate. It’s not about physical computers.
We know there’s a class of ”uncomputable problems” for which there’s no algorithm (most well known is halting problem). If the universe rely on any of these uncomputable problems, then no computer - no matter how advanced it is - can simulate the universe. Something else other than pure computation is needed.
However, their argument rely on that ”quantum gravity” is what makes the universe uncomputable. I’m not sure how valid this statement is.

I’m impressed the held on for this long

I miss when Dogecoin was just a satire of cryptocurrencies.

It’s not only wrong - it’s evil. The worst form of evil.

I’m mostly using my phone as an all in one multimedia device I can fit in my pocket.
I don’t see the flip phone as a good replacement for this kind of use. It wasn’t back in those days either. We used dedicated MP3 players or portable radio for music listening for example.
Dealing with memory usage will likely require significant rewrites and architectural changes. It will take years.
The ”memory optimizations” we’ll see is the removal of features but charge the same price. Software shrinkflation. Will require same amount of memory though.
