I’ve been here for a few years and I’m shocked Reddit is still around.

Everything is relative. I live in Vietnam where tech people make a tiny fraction of what they could make in the US and quality of life would be significantly better despite the risk of dealing with ICE and other barriers.

Can someone explain how powerful a party can be in Germany with a plurality but without a majority?

As an American… don’t cave. Boycott US products even if your countries give in. Otherwise we’ll never learn our lesson.
