It’s truly more complicated than that. The USA electoral system is weird worldwide, but more than weird, it’s antiquated and by design, by tradition, very prone to be manipulated, and this goes from the caucus system to the elections themselves.

It’s set up for the people to feel they are actually choosing leaders, but the reality is the political representation is only achieved for an increasingly narrow economical and ideological subset of the people. The American political class is very conservative, and it always breaks my heart that many Democrats feel offended when people from other countries, like me, point this out.

My father was recently a political prisoner. At 77 yo, he once was declared on liberty just to take him back after many hours standing waiting for his release, that never came. He said he was 20 hours standing, but the records only showed ~11 hours. Nevertheless, the next day I visited he had an audience but he couldn’t stand. They put him in a wheelchair so he could attend. The audience was gonna be about his release that couldn’t happen the day before, and the judge felt and stated the wheelchair thing could be a charade, because the records showed he was “only” 11 hours, tops, waiting for his release. His condition was bad, he barely slept. I had to pull him out of the wheelchair so he could pee, and months later he lost a toe, almost a foot, because his legs were failing to irrigate enough blood.

There was some equipment “failure” during the audience. It was suspended and the room was changed in the very moment. After the failure, it was resolved that my father had to stay in prison, because he still represented a danger to society, an activist with a career of 50 years. When I went to UNO, they told me that torture was absolutely difficult to prove, and prosecuting torture was basically a deadend in this case. They also completely drop interest in my father’s case, and stop responding to my communications, they basically ghosted me. Torture was common in that prison, I met a man who went blind in four days. He’s still there.

Wasn’t Mozilla Corp. supposed to be an ethical enterprise? How’s this ethical at all in any respect? How companies like these got convinced that so-called AIs are something users overwhelmingly want to use? Why, by default, users would want to fuck the atmosphere and several markets, so they can have shitty tweaked images and probably bad answers to the most simple questions?

It’s not needed. Nobody is looking for AI powered shit and they will feel it in their numbers. Why invest the pennies Mozilla can invest in a technology that big monsters are developing with billions and billions of dollars and natural resources? It’s not even reasonable, like a Pocket 2.0.

Better to “send keystrokes” to Google.

I’m ditching it for listenbrainz since those social capabilities are useless for me. My use case is actually for logging and storing info, not publishing it.

My checklist of features is always complete with a ~200 USD offer:

• GPS with at least compatibility with three constellations/bands, included navstar
• needs to have FM radio or something similar that doesn’t depend on an internet connection
• 3.5 jack
• SD card slot or 256 GB or more local storage
• huge battery life, so I can keep it at 80% maximum to save battery cycles for the long run
• oled screen, of +60Hz, better
• decent camera or set of cameras
• unlockable bootloader
• good odds to make it to official status in Lineage OS

It’s real. A lot of information can be taken from those bowls, you know, the kind of information big corporations will use to fuck you up when they get the chance.

We are very happy to see this in Mexico. We only hope for it to be sustainable. Mexican economy is not growing as fast as other developing countries’, but the economic equality is going down. This is not terrible, since wealth is flowing to the poor. The extremely rich are still extremely rich, so, probably they aren’t very happy, but they’ll be okay.

I wish the pandemic and second Trump term wouldn’t happened, but even with these unfortunate events, things are looking good here. Certainly, things can and should get even better.

This is the way. We did it in Mexico, it isn’t perfect, but it’s moving things. Corporate media and the USA government don’t like it, but most Mexicans do (like 70-80% by some polls).

The USA don’t have a Ministry of Education, their country has barely any history to teach, and they deny climate change and vaccines effectiveness. They elected a pedophile and a convicted felon as president of their country, which has the largest military budget and the second largest nuclear arsenal in the world. Sure, leave UNESCO, leave everything except Israel, both are in the same class of State.
