There is probably truth to what you say but I will point out that people used to get pocket guides to carry around that explained how things worked in the target country and provided basic phrases for ordering in restaurants, saying thank you, and such.

I think that the idea was that there is a special point where you feel secure and nothing beyond that makes any difference. But that $75k number sounds familiar. It’s probably more like $120k today.

AFAIK there are rarely whales born in captivity and nearly all were stolen from their pods and thrown into a swimming pool.

Apparently the people who live there are sick of it all and are starting to push back. Should be interesting to see if there are new laws or regulations.
