Damn, I was hoping the research would pan out here. I have problems reading longer chunks of text but OpenDyslexia has helped me with that. I read exclusively on my Kobo (which has it included as a font by default) because of it.

Are we assuming these groups are just excuses for their own agenda, or would this even be up for discussion had they not received the proposals? Something else?

Regardless of the outcome I just hope this doesn’t lead to more tribalism in software again. The FOSS community needs to stay strong on an international level whenever it comes to hardware integration etc.

Exactly. Maybe if you’re seeing it everywhere that’s because the issue is so pervasive it affects that much of the lives of those using it. So either do something about it or go to spaces where people don’t have problems I guess.
