Nederland and Netherlands both mean low country? Low as in Lower Rhine. It has an origin in the Roman name “Germania Inferior”.

They’re not wrong, it could be, but the question is should it be?

I don’t believe bar alcohol would become cheaper (at least in my country). Bars are often times leased, and a lot of times the landlords are companies like Heineken. They charge some very high rent, and even have their own version of dynamic pricing where you can lease a not so popular bar, make it profitable again and then see the rent doubled because now it’s A-list property. I’ve also never seen a price in retail go down due to lower costs in general, the difference gets pocketed by the company.

I once had a girl in a bar tell me (after some flirting and kissing) that she was wearing white panties with pink hearts, to which I responded “That’s nice”.

I’m Dutch, so we are tough about the Dutch golden age, which spans about the seventeenth century. Trade science and art were at a high point back then, but looking deeper it turns out the life expectancy for common people was lower than in the surrounding countries. The wealth was all concentrated in the Holland province(s), which explains why the Netherlands is commonly referred as Holland in other countries. Another thing was the schism between catholics and Calvinists, which meant Catholic cities didn’t benefit at all from the golden age. It also wasn’t benificial to the 1.7 million people who were enslaved by the Dutch.
So all in all, the Dutch golden age was very much golden for the merchants and aristocrats of cities like Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Leiden or Haarlem, and for the protestant ministers. For the rest, of you didn’t live near these cities you probably were dirt poor.

Billionaires can only exist in a large group of people. I think if a chimpansee (or any other ape) would decide to hoard all the resources of his group for himself, the rest would gang up on him and beat him to either submission or death.

This depends on where you live. In my country Employers will only (sometimes, not always) call previous companies if you specifically list them as references.

The racism is in training on white patients only, not in the abilities of the AI in this case.

I remember Java being seen as the best thing ever in the 90’s, and it was considered “cool” at that time. So cool even, that it became the programming equivalent of a hammer, every coding challenge looked like a nail for which you could use it.

Reminds me of Wireless Seattle, that must be what, 25 years ago?

I totally believe this. We see it here in the Netherlands (and other EU countries) for all big tech companies, they’ll build some big energy hogging thing, and then buy up all the renewable energy certificates from the market. The general public then ofcourse needs fossil fuels for their energy demand, but that’s beside the point.

You’re thinking rational. Tesla prices skyrocketed during the covid pandemic when wallstreetbets was gaining traction. That’s probably all you need to know.

A head with beautiful hair too!

Opium is being consumed for at least 5000 years, and has only been banned (mostly) in the last 150 years. In the 19th century there were two opium wars between western powers and China because the latter banned the use and import of opium. So opium was definitely grandfathered and normalized not too long ago.
super-annoying Instragram French guy that just screams everywhere
Not narrowing it down are we?
TLDR: They didn’t clash, but merely shared their insights, which were actually quite similar.
Could very well be the other way around, people who don’t suffer from anxiety or depression tend to eat more fruits and vegetables. Or, the thing that makes you anxious or depressed also causes you to eat less vegetables or fruits. The article specifically states “correlation is never causation”.
