I’m in Asia lol. While China is fairly high profile being the largest Asian country here, plenty of other Asian countries do the same with investment in public infrastructure whole being a democratic nation.

That would make sense if they actually sold lower end EVs where I live…

DeepSeek was frankly oversold (people were making a big fuss about how it’s better than others in every way but it was only more efficient and while I think that’s notable, it was a far cry from what was being reported) and I personally don’t think we should be investing that much time and energy in LLMs anyways. I’ll give them that for EVs but they easily cost 2x of a standard ICE Japanese car here since China companies seem to be targeting the luxury car market so it didn’t occur to me at all.
Not sure why you even brought up American cars to be honest.
That said, I was thinking more of semiconductors and there’s been so much news of Huawei doing all sorts of things that have went nowhere so far.

I’ll believe it when I see it. Lots of news of supposed breakthroughs in China all the time but hardly any of it actually leads to anything concrete so far.

It still works for me at least? In the office options, there’s a Copilot section with a single “Enable Copilot” checkbox. You’ll need to disable it per app though.

Hmm I was thinking of using it when travelling so I don’t think that fulfills the same use case.

Is there a good alternative that’s in the same compact size?

Yea no, just don’t change things. Things are good as they are without them trying to encroach further on our ownership of our devices.

I mean he’s being really extreme about it but he’s not exactly wrong. The touchpads on my Deck are more of an annoyance than help because of my smaller hands. I can only remember using it in one game and disabled in others because of how my hands would accidentally brush against them so I would love it if they had a touchpad-less version.

On the opposite of the spectrum, my small hands doesn’t play well with that feature. The capacitive sensors only works if your fingers touch the top of the sticks but I usually move the sticks by pushing on the round edges of it so I still occasionally brush against the touch pads which is annoying.

Great if your culture encourages that I guess? I do that in East Asia and I’ll get weird stares from everyone. And they’ll ask you to mind your own business which, I agree. It’s basic respect here to not talk on the train.

I mean even if it was planned the amount of excess given falling birthrates, doesn’t check out either.

How do you account for off site back ups though? I’m currently setting up my own set up but I’m not sure how I should perform off site back ups.

Shouldn’t they also be comparing it to Strix Halo instead?

Isn’t it already bundle with Windows 11? Article doesn’t say what’s the difference.
A tale as old as time…

Could you expand with an example because what you said is too vague to really extract any point from. I’d argue that if it gives you wrong information, doing something wrong is worse than doing nothing.

Apple doesn’t really exist as a competitor for a number of industries and use cases due to not officially supporting anything other than OSX so I’m not sure if they’re a fair comparison here.
The only real edge they have is in non-gaming related consumer workloads.

You’re right but at the end of the day, the average person is content with having their stuff just work for now and that’s a reasonable expectation isn’t it? If it ain’t broke, people aren’t going to go out of their way to protect themselves from a what-if that they may feel is going to maybe mildly inconvenience them when it happens regardless of what it actually is, since they may be ignorant of the true state of how things might be.
And in the end, some are just gonna accept that inconvenience from stuff not working completely rather than switch. People have been saying to switch away from Chrome for years and now even with ad-blocking being nerfed, people are still on it.
What democracy? Lol. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with making your own judgments because even as you’re in the US, you are more than the simple fact that you live in the US and so I don’t think that invalidates your opinions.
As it is right now, the US is still more democratic than China is. It’s trending towards authoritarianism but you guys can still vote can’t you? Your politicians can still reasonably voice their disagreements with the president without suddenly disappearing without a trace isn’t it? Heck, we can have this conversation right now without worrying this site gets banned or the whole thread censored by the state after all.
As dire as things are, I hope for your sake and the sake of the rest of the world that things improve. The last thing we need is for any 1 nation to have dominance in the world.
