Fair enough

Fair enough

I’ve seen that as a variant a couple times, but I think the double-negative of the “no one: [nothing]” adds a little bit of surrealism to the format, and makes the following line seem a bit more unhinged.

polyamorous colonies, pleasure-based economy, assless chaps, what a life

I’m still not 100% on that one, but I choose to interpret it as “no one asked” or “here comes something totally unprompted”.

Isn’t soda kind of an induced demand thing, at least in part? In some places soda is cheaper than water.

I could have gained citizenship in Spain or Portugal based on my family name alone (and like €600 or so) when they had the citizenship path for Sephardic Jewish heritage. I found out too late though and they had closed the door before I even knew about my distant relatives in the first place.
Wife is Irish enough to claim her passport so we’re working that path currently. Those things are just your right to establish a life there, though, and don’t include figuring out housing, source of income and everything else.
It certainly feels like we’re going to miss our chance, but it’s definitely worth it to keep working toward IMO.

Can’t wait for the biopic. He’ll probably star as himself and do all his own stunts!

I am horribly mistaken! :)

Anyone know how to cancel a monthly subscription to condensed cream of mushroom? I was drunk and the free trial seemed like a good idea at the time

The word “malware” being in the URL, if I had to guess

Easier and cheaper to outsource your site’s security to someone else. God forbid you have to learn the cyber. Simple as.

Not even strictly policy, but the way he conducted the campaign. He actually addressed the people standing in front of him in their language.

The post here on Lemmy is 11 hours old, but the study is from 2020. Read the fucking article for fuck’s sake!

They may be telling on themselves with the headline

Imagine being so rich that this is what your rock bottom looks like

The idea is to place an upper limit on corps for the definition of a full time work week. If you want to work more, go ahead, but your employer shouldn’t be able to compel you to work past that max number of hours in return for benefits. It’s tricky because there’s a legal component and a cultural component to it. Also some businesses will push back (especially service industry) because they will need to change their whole hiring and scheduling.
I have single browser tabs that regularly suck down a whole gig. (And they still have input lag).
