only 7.4% of americans serve in the military. while i know that’s not how statistics work, it seems to be a significant marker. like, i know more than a few former marines who like to talk about luring people onto gold mines because they think then it’s somehow legal to murder them.
Meanwhile, and I note this as a veteran of the Iraq war myself, 28.5% of mass shooters had a military background, but they’re not coming after veterans for THEIR guns.

Well yeah, they have guns and know how to use them.
Also the army can be sort of traumatizing for some reason. And the healthcare when they get back isn’t . . great.
Or, you know, white disenfranchised boys? Not that they are all killers, but most mass shooters do come from that group
why bother? can’t afford guns if they just leave veterans to die after discharge
